Memorabilia Registry

How to Search the Site

There are two main ways to search MemReg:

  1. Search for items or addresses
  2. Search for celebrities using the list of names
All these methods involve searching by a celebrity's name, but they all work in different ways.

Searching for items

Let's say we want to find items signed by Kevin Smith, the director and humorist. Enter "Kevin Smith" in the box.

Searching for Kevin Smith

The system is already searching for you. It has found seven Kevin Smiths in the database; you'll need to choose the one you're after.
We're after "Kevin Smith (Patrick)", as the only other Kevin Smith in the Entertainment category is listed as a singer -- and our Kevin Smith plays a character named "Silent Bob" for a reason! Click on that choice.

Narrowing down the search

We are presented with a gallery of items signed by Kevin Smith, as well as information about him.
Put your mouse over an item's image to see a larger view, as well as the signer information. You can mouse-over the D to see an item's full description.

Should we be interested in addresses (so we can get our own memorabilia signed), we would select Address display instead of Item.
Address search

The search results will change to display all the addresses on file:

Searching using the list of names

Let's try to find Kevin Smith by going back to the main page and using the name list, instead. The list is sorted by first name, so let's click on the letter K.

The letter K

As you can see, that search results in a lot of items!

Items for K

Let's try and narrow that search a bit by telling it to display only "Movie"-related items.

Set category

That got the results down to something manageable. We can go forward a few pages and find what we're looking for -- and we might find something else interesting on the way!
